Privacy notice

This is a personal site I run to find a roommate for my apartment. I collect only what I need to evaluate roommate fit, I never sell your information, and I delete it within 90 days of your application closing. If you want a copy of your data or want it deleted sooner, use the request form.

When you apply for a room:

• Name, email address, and phone number
• Public social profile links you choose to share (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook)
• Free-text answers to the questionnaire (about you, lifestyle, move-in date)
• The room you applied for
• Notes and a fit score generated by AI from the above

I do not collect government IDs, financial information, or precise location.

• To evaluate roommate compatibility and decide who to invite for a viewing
• To send transactional emails about your application (confirmation, viewing invite, decision)
• To contact you when a new room opens, if you previously applied and a room was filled
• For aggregate, non-identifying stats (e.g. application volume per room)

I use Anthropic Claude to summarize your free-text answers into a fit note. I use Tavily to look up the public social profiles you provided and capture a short, factual summary. The summary is stored alongside your application and shown only to me. No automated decision is made without human review — I read each application myself.

Service providers, listed plainly, no resale:

• Supabase — database and storage
• Vercel — hosting
• Resend — transactional email
• Anthropic — AI summarization
• Tavily — public web research

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party not listed above.

I keep your application data for up to 90 days after your application reaches a final status (rejected, accepted, or archived when a cycle ends). Applications that were started but not submitted are also deleted within 90 days of when they were started. After these windows, the data is automatically deleted by a nightly cron. If you want me to delete it sooner, use the request form.

If you live in California, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information I collected and how I used it
• Access a copy of the personal information I hold about you
• Delete your personal information — on request, I will delete or permanently de-identify your data so it can no longer be linked to you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Opt out of sale — I do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of
• Non-discrimination — exercising any of the above will not affect how I evaluate your application

Use the request form to submit any of these requests. I respond within 45 days, usually sooner.

I do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only cookies the site sets are session cookies needed to keep me logged in as the admin. No cookies are set on your visit unless you submit an application.

This site is not directed at anyone under 18.

All privacy requests and questions go through the request form. It captures what you're asking for, creates an auditable record, and reaches me directly. There's a free-text message field on the form for anything that doesn't fit the access / delete / correct buckets.
